Gail Lee, Sustainability director for both UCSF campus and UCSF Health, is responsible for advancing and reporting sustainability compliance with UC Sustainable Practices policies around climate change, clean energy, water conservation, green labs, sustainable food, green buildings and operations, toxics reduction, zero waste, and communications.
Rowena Eng, MESM, Sustainability Coordinator, manages sustainability data reporting, communications, employee engagement campaigns, and initiatives to save energy and waste at UCSF. She enjoys facilitating interdepartmental collaborations to find triple win solutions that not only advance UCSF’s Zero Waste and Carbon Neutrality goals, but also promote employee wellness and generate cost savings for the university. Prior to joining UCSF in 2018, Rowena worked in laboratory and clinical research at NYU Langone Health and healthcare sustainability at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She holds a B.S. in Marine Sciences and M.S. in Environmental Science & Management.
